Santi Sadhana Trust was the brain child of Sri. S. Rajam. In the year 1957, Sri. Rajam established the Trust with the primary object of spreading knowledge, education and culture of Tamil by the publication of books, classics and other literature. Other objects of the Trust include establishment / contribution to Libraries, Educational and Research Institutions, donations to poor and deserving students to pursue studies and undergo training. 

Leading Tamil scholars Sri. S. Vaiyapuri Pillai, Sri. T.P. Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai, Sri. Kandasami Pillai, Sri. P.N. Appuswami, Sri. P. Sri Aacharya, Sri. Saw Ganesan, Sri. A.S. Gnanasambandam, Sri. M.V. Venugopal Pillai, Sri. K.V. Jagannathan, Sri. V.M. Subramanya Iyer and several others were associated with the trust and assisted in the furtherance of its objects.

During his life time, Sri. Rajam worked tirelessly for the furtherance of the objects of the Trust. Sri. Rajam made substantial financial contribution to the Trust and with his able guidance, several publications were undertaken. Mudhalayiram, Thiruvaimozhi, Eyarpaa, Periya Thirumozhi, Thiruvasagam, Silappathigaaram, Manimegalai, Kalladam, Ashtap Prabandham, Paththuppaattu, Ettuthogai, Paattum Thogaiyum, Kamba Ramayanam, Villi Baratham, Tholkappiyam were some of the famous Tamil literature published by the trust.

These publications were known for being error-free, no mean achievement at a time when publications were through letter press and not with the aid of computers and modern technology. The books published by the Trust were largely subsidized to propagate the Tamil language.

Following the foot steps of Sri. Rajam the trust continues to publish various literatures in Tamil language.  The trust has published several well researched, exhaustive and comprehensive works. These are invaluable aids to scholars and research students in understanding the glorious Tamil language.
